The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Star for Mr. 2 in One Piece Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced this week that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Mr. 2. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their dominant hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that character re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action series, as in the source material and cartoon version.
The new cast member joins a number of fresh additions who will portray the group to life, such as leader Mr. 0, brought to life by the seasoned performer, a talented actress as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as the ruler of the desert kingdom.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this represents a notable change in the timing of the character’s debut, one that could signal more adjustments to the narrative framework.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the part. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
