The Renowned Musician Urges Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It occupies a profound significance for a lot of people,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced in the wake of a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers contributing to Lullaby features a group of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of talented individuals. The track features a fusion of the traditional Arabic lyrics with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the initiative have stated that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a fixed goal,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of property said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is above all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
