The President Invites Families of Shot Guard Soldiers to the White House
President Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.
He mentioned that he conversed with her family and they were “devastated”.

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a attack on last Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her comrade, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.

The president explained he’s discussed a White House visit for the parents of both members of the West Virginia Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to Sarah,” the president informed reporters. “And similarly with him, recover or not.”

Mourners gathered over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both they had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to aid law enforcement in DC.

“She was the type of pupil that educators desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her alma mater, stated to the press. “She was caring, considerate and always willing to support those in need.”
Service arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.
Legal Measures and Policy Changes
Law enforcement have indicted a 29-year-old suspect with a charge of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.
The incident led the government to halt asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to possessors of travel documents.
Condition of the Airman
The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the Associated Press.
He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, West Virginia governor Morrisey said on a news program.
The state’s top lawyer the attorney general stated on the program that she planned to speak to his relatives.

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, per the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had courage,” he told the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to last forever.”
