Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
