Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
US actor Pat Finn, who featured in iconic programs such as "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in LA on Monday following treatment for cancer since 2022, per reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, peer Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
