Canada's Blue Jays Secure Fall Classic Matchup Versus the Dodgers
Springer previously helped the Astros winning the World Series in 2017.
Canada's MLB team advanced to their first World Series since 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the final game seven of the AL Championship Series.
Down three runs to one, the star outfielder hit a three-run blast in the seventh inning, guiding the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 win in the seven-game series. They will now face the defending champions, the team that is the defending champions, in the anticipated championship.
"I'm thrilled for this squad, Toronto, the nation," said Springer, an integral part of the Astros team that secured the 2017 World Series. "What an incredible feeling."
The veteran has now connected for twenty-three playoff homers, placing him third on the list after Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine another player anywhere that I'd choose in that situation other than Springer with his October magic," noted Schneider.
Seattle's team, despite leading the early in the series, are still the only MLB franchise yet to make an appearance in a championship series.
Mariners manager Dan Wilson commented "without a doubt that it's going to sting" following his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but applauded their work this season.
"It's a special team. Sadly that we ended up on the wrong side of the series," he continued.
The Blue Jays claimed the title on each of their earlier trips in the early 90s, and will welcome the Los Angeles in the opener on Friday.
