Administration Denounces 'Democratic Hoax' as Further Epstein Estate Images Released
Democratic lawmakers have made public a new tranche of what they termed "disturbing" photographs from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 photographs—some of which have been seen before—plus another 70 issued later on Friday constitute a minuscule portion of the nearly 100,000 images provided to the House oversight committee, which is examining the behavior and associations of Epstein.
The fallen money manager died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being accused of sex-trafficking crimes.
High-Profile Individuals in the Photos
Among the high-profile individuals seen in the first release are celebrities including movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin empire.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
White House Response
The White House reacted to the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of purposefully "hand-picking" the photographs for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false storyline."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," a White House spokesperson remarked, asserting that "the current government has accomplished more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats ever have by repeatedly calling for openness, making public reams of documents, and calling for additional probes into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Congressional Democrat Remarks
The photos were released devoid of explanation, but according to a California Democrat and senior member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's links with wealthy individuals.
"The moment has come to stop this White House obfuscation and deliver justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he said in a statement.
The publication of these materials occurs alongside the oversight committee continuing its probe into the affair.
